Editorial Review:

Amazon.com essential recording:
Inevitably, when critics praise a new Dylan album, they label it the "best since Blood on the Tracks," and with good reason. Inspired by a crumbled marriage, and recorded after a tour with The Band had apparently re-ignited his creativity, Blood is among Dylan's masterpieces. The album's epic songs are well known, but its real high points are the shorter numbers--"You're a Big Girl Now," the flawless blues "Meet Me in the Morning," and the sweetly devastating "Buckets of Rain." These are songs of "images and distorted facts," each expressed through tangled points of view, and all of them blue. --David Cantwell

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Really outstanding Remastering
I purchased the remastered version, which has a deeper, warmer sound than the previous version. If you like Bob and sound is important, I wouldn't think twice about buying this CD.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Can the best be improved?
I remember when this album came out, and how everyone I knew was blown away. The poet/folkie/rocker/genius of his generation outdid himself. Every song a miniature masterpiece. Now with the release of the SACD, I can enjoy this album even more. The warmth of the acoustic guitars is warmer. The acid vocals of "Idiot Wind" could melt your face. The saddle bum delivery of "Lilly, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts" makes me want to get on a horse, ride into town and get me a whiskey. Do yourself a favor, ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Easily Dylan's greatest album
I could go on and on, ranting and raving about this fantastic album, but I won't. I will say that I am a big Dylan fan, and I presently own thirteen Dylan albums. And "Blood On The Tracks" is easily his best! No wait. Maybe "Blonde on Blonde". Hell, buy them both! What are you waiting for?

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - SACD sound quality
Well done, and sounds much better on SACD then other earlier Dylan titles. The stuff from the sixties just does not sound as good. Pity, because those are my favorites. When it comes to sound quality, You Can't Get "Blood" From A "Stone" seems to have a double meaning here. Pardon the pun...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Blood on the Tracks
My God it's great. It's the closest thing I will ever come to experiencing the "Oceanic feeling" Freud writes about in Civilization and its Discontents. I can't stop listening to it, and I probably never will.
