about the principal cast BOB DYLAN (Jack Fate) holds a unique place in American cultural history, virtually unmatched by any other artist. In 1999, The Guardian of London wrote: "Dylan invented modern pop music," and George Magazine, in an article published a year later wrote: "Through an avalanche of original songs unmatched in range and ambition in the second half of the 20th century, Dylan's music retains its power to spin you off center, spear you in the heart and show you your soul from another angle." Though it is impossible to cite all of his extraordinary accomplishments or the complete list of honors and accolades he has received throughout his career, an overview follows: Dylan has written over 500 songs and released over 43 albums, which combined have sold over 74 million records around the world. His most recent Grammy Award winning album, 2001's Love and Theft, garnered both critical and popular acclaim. Robert Hillburn of the Los Angeles Times described the album as containing..."Striking contemporary pieces filled with his trademark label of dazzling sophistication. It is a unique mix of party frenzy and serious reflection." His previous album, Time Out Of Mind, won three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, in 1998. In 2001, Dylan was the recipient of an Academy Award as well as a Golden Globe for Best Song for "Things Have Changed" from the movie WONDER BOYS. A legendary touring artist, he has built his reputation on the strength of his live appearances, from the coffee houses of Greenwich Village in the 1960's to stadiums in the 1970's and sold out venues across the world into the year 2002. Since 1988, he has played no less than 100 shows a year, performing in cities from Bozman, Montana to Rio de Janeiro, from Melbourne, Australia to Singapore. His audiences have ranged from college students at Jazzfest in New Orleans to Pope John Paul in Rome. In addition to his original recordings, Dylan's songs have been covered by over 2000 different artists - a short list of whom includes: The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Guns N Roses, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young, Sheryl Crow, The O'Jays, Duke Ellington, P.J. Harvey, Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, Tom Petty, Buck Owens, Rage Against The Machine, and Garth Brooks. Dylan's first appearance on screen was in DON'T LOOK BACK, D.A. Pennebaker's legendary cinema verite study of his 1965 tour of the British Isles. He played "Alias" in Sam Peckinpah's 1973 film PAT GARRETT AND BILL THE KID, which he also scored and for which he wrote the classic song, "Knockin' On Heaven's Door." He played Billy Parker in HEARTS OF FIRE in 1987 and appeared in RENALDO AND CLARA, an impressionistic look at Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue, released in 1978. Dylan, who has been the sole subject of over 500 books, received an Honorary Doctorate from Princeton University in 1971; was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1982 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988; received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1991, and was awarded the Kennedy Center Honor by President Clinton in 1997. Bob Dylan received the Commandeur de L'Ordre des Artes et des Lettres, the highest cultural honor bestowed by the French Government and has been nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature for the past four years. JEFF BRIDGES (Tom Friend) is a four-time Academy Award nominee. He earned his first Oscar nod in 1971 for Best Supporting Actor in THE LAST PICTURE SHOW. Three years later he received his second nomination, again for Best Supporting Actor in THUNDERBOLT AND LIGHTFOOT. In 1984 he received a Best Actor nomination for STARMAN, a performance that also earned him a Golden Globe nomination. In 2001, he was honored with another Golden Globe nomination and his fourth Oscar nomination for his role in THE CONTENDER. He also received an IFP/Spirit Award in 1993 for Best Actor for his role in AMERICAN HEART, which he also produced. Bridges' recently wrapped SEABISCUIT for Universal Pictures and currently is in production on Focus Features' DOOR IN THE FLOOR, based on the first section of the John Irving novel A Widow for One Year. The actor's multi-faceted career has encompassed virtually all genres in film. One of Bridges' true passions is photography. Later this year, Bridges' will add published author to his credits when PowerHouse Books publishes and distributes a hardback compellation of his on-set photos from the many films he has starred in over the years. Bridges' photos have been featured in several magazines including Premiere and Aperture in the United States and publications worldwide. He has also exhibited his work in Los Angeles and London. In his spare time, Bridges is also an accomplished painter. PENELOPE CRUZ (Pagan Lace) was already a star in her native Spain when she was first introduced to American audiences in the Spanish films JAMON, JAMON and BELLE EPOQUE. In 1998, she starred in her first English language film, HI-LO COUNTRY opposite Woody Harrelson. A year later, she was the recipient of the Best Actress award at the 13th Annual Goya Awards given by the Spanish Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, for her performance in Fernando Trueba's THE GIRL OF YOUR DREAMS. Additionally, Cruz co-starred in Pedro Almovodar's critically acclaimed ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER, which received both the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for Best Foreign film. In 2001, Cruz starred in New Line's BLOW for director Ted Demme, a true story set in the 70's and told through the eyes of a young American, played by Johnny Depp, who became one of the biggest U.S. cocaine traffickers for reputed drug kingpin Carlos Escobar. Cruz starred as Depp's wife. She also starred opposite Nicolas Cage in the screen adaptation of Louis de Bernieres' best-selling WWII novel CAPTAIN CORELLI'S MANDOLIN. Cruz also recently starred in Cameron Crowe's VANILLA SKY, opposite Tom Cruise. She also starred opposite Matt Damon in the highly anticipated screen adaptation of ALL THE PRETTY HORSES, directed by Billy Bob Thornton and played Isabella in the whimsical WOMAN ON TOP for Fox Searchlight. Additional feature credits include her starring role in the thriller OPEN YOUR EYES and the romance TWICE UPON A YESTERDAY. She also starred in Pedro Almodovar's LIVE FLESH, TALK OF ANGELS and DON JUAN. The day she finished shooting MASKED AND ANONYMOUS, Cruz flew to Paris to begin production on FANFAN LA TULIPE. Additional upcoming projects include HEAD IN THE CLOUDS and GOTHIKA. JOHN GOODMAN (Uncle Sweetheart) is one of the entertainment industry's most respected actors. He earned a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in the Coen Brother's BARTON FINK. He has also earned seven Emmy nominations, a Screen Actors Guild nomination and Golden Globe for his starring role in the long-running television series "Roseanne." The show also garnered him two American Comedy Awards and seven additional Golden Globe nominations. Additional awards include two Emmy nominations for A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE and a Golden Satellite Award nomination for THE BIG LEBOWSKI. After performing with a road production of "The Robber Bridegroom," he went on to star in two Broadway shows, "Loose Ends" in 1979 and "Big River" in 1985. Goodman made his screen debut in the HBO production "Mystery of Moro Castle." JESSICA LANGE (Nina Veronica), the recipient of six Academy Award nominations and two Oscars, has built her distinguished career portraying strong and independent women. Lange received critical praise for her performance as Cora in Bob Rafelson's remake of the classic THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE and earned her first Academy Award nomination for her next film, FRANCES, based on the life of Frances Farmer. That film segued almost immediately into work on TOOTSIE, for which she won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 1983. This marked the first time in 25 years that an actor had been nominated for two Oscars in the same year. She went on to both produce and star in COUNTRY, after which she portrayed country western legend, Patsy Cline, in SWEET DREAMS opposite Ed Harris. She received Best Actress nominations for both of performances. Lange next starred in CRIMES OF THE HEART followed by FAR NORTH and EVERYBODY'S ALL-AMERICAN. She went on to star in MEN DON'T LEAVE and MUSIC BOX, which earned her a fifth Academy Award nomination. Soon after, she starred in Martin Scorsese's remake of CAPE FEAR and NIGHT AND THE CITY. Other films include ROB ROY and LOSING ISAIAH. Lange made her Broadway debut in 1992 as Blanche Dubois in Gregory Mosher's revival of Tennessee Williams' "A Streetcar Named Desire". She then reprised her role as Blanche in the London run of the production in 1996. Lange appeared again as Blanche Dubois in the CBS Playhouse '90s presentation of "A Streetcar Named Desire" with John Goodman. 1995 was an exceptional year in which she won the Best Actress honor at both the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes for her performance in BLUE SKY opposite Tommy Lee Jones. In 1997-98 Lange again received critical praise for her performances in three films: A THOUSAND ACRES, HUSH and COUSIN BETTE. Recently, Lange starred in TITUS and she followed this with a hugely successful turn on the London stage in "Long Day's Journey Into Night." Lange's most recent projects include HBO's NORMAL in which she starred with Tom Wilkinson and PROZAC NATION, with Christina Ricci. She just finished filming Tim Burton's BIG FISH. LUKE WILSON (Bobby Cupid) was most recently seen co-starring with Vince Vaughn and Will Ferrell in DreamWorks' hit comedy, OLD SCHOOL. He made his feature debut in the critically acclaimed independent film BOTTLE ROCKET, first written and directed by Wes Anderson and co-written by his brother, Owen, who also co-starred. He then went on to appear in various cameo and supporting roles before winning lead roles in Bruce McCulloch's DOG PARK, and HOME FRIES, opposite Drew Barrymore. Wilson re-teamed with brother Owen Wilson and Wes Anderson for 1998's RUSHMORE, which appeared on many Critic's Top Ten Lists, and then most recently in again for Anderson's THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS, in which Wilson appeared with an all-star cast that included Gene Hackman, Anjelica Huston, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Stiller, and Bill Murray. Additionally, Luke has starred opposite Martin Lawrence in the comedy BLUE STREAK, and opposite Heather Graham in the dark comedy COMMITTED, which was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival. He appeared in CHARLIE'S ANGELS with Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore, and opposite Reese Witherspoon in LEGALLY BLONDE, which was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. Wilson's will next be seen starring with Kate Hudson in Rob Reiner's romantic comedy ALEX AND EMMA, and he will reprise his roles for the sequels CHARLIE'S ANGELS 2: FULL THROTTLE and LEGALLY BLONDE 2: RED, WHITE AND BLUE.
